Gulf NRI Delegation Urges Telangana CM for Dedicated Welfare Board and Budgetary Support
Jeddah: On Friday, August 2, a delegation of Gulf NRIs met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the Assembly to advocate for enhanced support for Gulf-based workers. The delegation called for the establishment of a Gulf NRI Welfare Board with a budget allocation of ₹500 crore. They also sought financial aid of ₹5 lakh for families of NRI workers who have died in Gulf countries.
The delegation included Dr. B. Vinod Kumar, TPCC NRI Cell Chairman and former ambassador; M. Bheem Reddy, Convenor of the Gulf NRI Cell of TPCC; B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, MLC and TPCC Working President; along with Choppadandi MLA Medipalli Satyam, Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Krishna Dhonikeni, President of the Gulf NRI organization GWAC.
The issue of Gulf NRI workers’ welfare was also highlighted by Congress and BJP MLAs during the recent Telangana Assembly session, underscoring the growing concern over the welfare of this significant expatriate community.
