Telangana Government Launches SPEED Initiative to Accelerate Development Projects
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has unveiled a new initiative, SPEED (Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery), aimed at expediting the completion of crucial development projects. Under this initiative, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will personally oversee 19 significant projects launched by the government.
The 19 key projects under SPEED include the Musi Riverfront Development, satellite town development, metro rail expansion, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reorganization, the Regional Ring Road, elevated corridors in Hyderabad, new airports, and the construction of Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi.
Additional projects encompass the Mahila Shakti Scheme, construction of district federation buildings, residential school complexes, institutional development for Amma Adarsh Schools Committees, Advanced Technology Centres in ITIs, a new Osmania Hospital, 15 new nursing colleges, 28 new paramedical colleges, promotion of medical tourism, ecotourism, temple tourism, and the implementation of an anti-drug strategy.
As part of the SPEED program, a monthly review meeting will be held with officials from the relevant departments. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has emphasized the need for timely and efficient completion of these projects, instructing all departments to adhere strictly to the outlined plans.
SPEED aims to remove barriers between sectors and ensure the creation of quality infrastructure that will foster economic growth. The initiative allows for direct decision-making at the chief minister’s level to reduce delays and enhance administrative efficiency.
Each department involved in SPEED is required to prepare specific plans with detailed timelines for project completion. To ensure transparency and accountability, the government has mandated a standardized monitoring procedure. The Planning Department has also launched an online portal to provide real-time data on the progress of each SPEED project, ensuring adherence to schedules and promoting effective oversight.
