Telangana Tops Nation in IT Export Growth, Reaching ₹2.68 Lakh Crore
Telangana has achieved the top position in India for IT export growth, with the sector’s exports soaring to ₹2.68 lakh crore in the financial year 2023-24, reflecting an impressive growth rate of 11.2% compared to the previous year. This announcement was made by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu during the inauguration of the Global Capability Centres (GCC) Innovation Summit held at T-Hub.
Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the crucial role of GCCs in driving this growth, noting that numerous national and international IT giants have established their GCCs in Hyderabad. He also pointed out that many IT companies in the region are expanding their operations into tier-2 cities, indicating a trend that is expected to increase significantly in the near future.
During the summit, eight national and international IT companies signed mutual understanding agreements with T-Hub, including notable names such as Medtronic, Toronto’s Business Development Centre, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Summit Consulting Services, Transition VC, Fuzzie, New Relic, and PayU.
The event was attended by key officials, including Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary of IT and Industries, underscoring the state’s commitment to fostering innovation and growth in the IT sector.
