R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth’s ‘Test’ Premieres on Netflix April 4
The much-anticipated Tamil film Test, starring R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth, is set to premiere on Netflix on April 4. This human drama, which intertwines the lives of three characters connected to the high-stakes world of cricket, marks the directorial debut of producer S. Sashikanth.
The film also features actress Meera Jasmine, sharing the screen with the star-studded cast. Test tells the story of resilience, the weight of choices, and the profound challenges that life itself presents. The narrative delves into the moral dilemmas faced by its protagonists, all set against the backdrop of the cricket field.
Sashikanth, reflecting on his transition from producer to director, shared his excitement about the project. “Having nurtured stories as a producer for years, stepping into the director’s chair for Test was both exhilarating and deeply personal. The film is about resilience, the weight of choices, and how life itself is the greatest test of all. Bringing together three powerhouse performers — R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth — for the first time made this journey even more special. I’m grateful to YNOT Studios, Netflix, and my incredible team for bringing this vision to life. Monika Shergill, Vice-President of Content at Netflix India, described Test as the streaming platform’s first Tamil original feature film of 2025. “It’s a deeply compelling drama thriller that tests the moral thresholds of its three protagonists played by powerhouse talents R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth. Set against the backdrop of high-stakes cricket, it’s an emotional rollercoaster that forces these characters to make choices that challenge their ambition, sacrifice, and courage,” Shergill said.
Shergill also praised Sashikanth’s direction, noting that the film would keep audiences hooked until the very end. “We are incredibly excited to bring Test to our audiences across India and the world,” she added.
