BR Naidu Announces Key Changes to Darshan Arrangements for Vaikuntha Ekadashi at Tirumala
BR Naidu, the newly appointed Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), has introduced significant changes to the operational procedures at the Tirumala temple, with a primary focus on enhancing the darshan experience for the common devotees.
In a recent statement, BR Naidu outlined several important decisions regarding the upcoming Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival, which is set to take place from January 10 to January 19. One of the most notable changes is the cancellation of all special darshan facilities during this period. Only devotees with valid darshan tokens will be allowed entry for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a highly significant festival, and it is tradition for devotees to pass through the Vaikuntha Dwaram, the temple’s sacred gate. The TTD has already begun extensive preparations to manage the large number of pilgrims expected during the festival, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees.
BR Naidu emphasized that there will be no special privileges for former public representatives, ex-officials, or former chairpersons during this period. VIP break darshan, except for protocol dignitaries, will also be suspended from January 10 to January 19. Furthermore, the TTD has decided to cancel special darshan for infants, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, defense personnel, and NRIs during the 10-day festival period.
Devotees will only be allowed darshan if they hold valid tokens or special entry tickets, and while those without tokens can visit the Tirumala hill area, they will not be permitted to enter the darshan lines. Pilgrims are advised to strictly adhere to the time slots allocated for darshan to ensure a smooth and orderly experience.
BR Naidu assured that the changes will help in reducing long queues and enhance the overall darshan experience for the maximum number of devotees. He also clarified that pilgrims wearing the Govindamala will not be granted any special privileges for darshan, stressing that only those with valid darshan tokens or tickets will be allowed entry.
These reforms are aimed at streamlining temple operations and ensuring that the common devotees have the best possible experience during the sacred Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival.
