India’s former captain and star batter, Virat Kohli, made headlines with his remarks during a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a group interview with Team India following their ICC T20 World Cup victory. These statements have gone viral on social media.

After India’s T20 World Cup win, Prime Minister Modi hosted the team for breakfast to personally congratulate and interact with each member. The highlight of this interaction was Kohli’s comments on arrogance and its detrimental effects, leading to overconfidence and eventual downfall.

When PM Modi inquired about the driving force behind Kohli’s impressive performance in the T20 World Cup final, where he scored a top score of 76 runs off 59 balls with two sixes and six fours, Kohli emphasized the importance of setting aside arrogance.

“When people say that you’ll be able to achieve something, often it becomes a driving force…” said PM Modi, to which Kohli responded, explaining his struggle to maintain a decent score despite his efforts.

“Whenever you think to yourself that ‘I will do it,’ your arrogance goes up, and the game slips out of your hand. I had to let go of that thought process. The situation of the game had turned such that I did not have the space to keep my arrogance above it. I had to keep it aside. When I gave respect to the game, it returned it back to me,” Kohli stated.

This exchange has sparked significant reactions online, with many netizens interpreting Kohli’s remarks as a subtle critique of the BJP, led by PM Modi, for not achieving the majority mark in the Lok Sabha elections, despite initial claims of winning 400 seats.

The BJP’s narrative of securing 400 out of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha polls faded after the first phase of the elections, where ground feedback was unfavorable. Unlike the previous two terms, the BJP fell short of a majority, securing only 240 seats. The party was subsequently compelled to form a coalition with its NDA partners to cross the majority threshold of 270 seats.

The NDA, led by the BJP, won a total of 293 seats, with 28 of these secured by Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu.

When your arrogance rises, the game slips away from you." – Virat Kohli in front of PM Modi.

🚨🚨I think Virat Kohli is a staunch Congressman. Bro indirectly schooled Narendra Modi on his face. Next level stuff🔥😂 pic.twitter.com/yap3OPyct1

Virat Kohli subtly telling Modi that 'Ek akela sab pe bhari' and 'Abki paar 400 paar' kind of arrogance don't work.

As per sources, he separately told him "Izzat se retire hona beizzati se bhaga diye jane se behtar hai". pic.twitter.com/hQt2lfUva5

"When your arrogance rises, the game slips away from you." @imVkohli #Kohli told PM @narendramodi. Quite a killer statement from the master batter! Modi wouldn't be amused over it.

In the world of cricket, moments of triumph and introspection intertwine. In this… pic.twitter.com/wR3yOSpKDN
