Chandrababu Naidu, serving his fourth term as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, actively spearheaded the pension distribution campaign by personally participating in today’s program to distribute funds to beneficiaries.
Honoring his pre-election commitments, Naidu took proactive steps to implement the pension program, despite the challenging fiscal circumstances of Andhra Pradesh and the additional burden of over 850 crore rupees that the program entails. His leadership and expertise were instrumental in successfully executing this initiative.
There is speculation about whether the BJP will seek credit for the effective implementation of the pension program. Notably, the BJP had maintained a distance from the TDP manifesto since its inception and a senior BJP leader, present during the manifesto announcement, had notably refrained from holding the document alongside Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan before the election.
Today marks the realization of one of the pivotal promises in the TDP-JSP manifesto—the pension program. Naidu’s administration has delivered on its commitment to provide the highest-ever conventional pension amount in Andhra Pradesh, amounting to Rs 7000.
Looking ahead, Naidu aims to implement a monthly pension of Rs 4000 starting next month. Pawan Kalyan himself has acknowledged that this substantial pension disbursement is a testament to Naidu’s experience and leadership.
Despite earlier differences and the BJP’s initial skepticism towards the manifesto, Chandrababu Naidu has successfully delivered on his promises, achieving the pension distribution without external financial support from the central government. The extent to which the BJP will claim credit for this widespread outreach program remains to be seen.
