Mumbai: Woman Passenger Booked for Misbehavior on IndiGo Flight
Mumbai: A female passenger on IndiGo flight 5292 from Varanasi to Mumbai was charged for allegedly abusing and misbehaving with the cabin crew over a seating dispute, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday, a police official reported.
“The flight, carrying 175 passengers, departed from Varanasi 29 minutes behind schedule. The woman, initially seated in seat 9, requested a change but refused to move when offered seat 15. Approximately 15 minutes later, she went to the lavatory and subsequently began verbally abusing and misbehaving with the crew,” the official stated on Thursday.
“Although crew members initially attempted to ignore her outbursts, her disruptive behavior continued. After complaints from both the crew and other passengers, she was officially declared an unruly passenger following the appropriate procedures,” the official added.
Upon landing at Mumbai airport, the passenger was handed over to the Sahar police. Based on a crew member’s complaint, she was charged under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Aircraft Rules, the official confirmed.
