New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar allegedly assaulted Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal by kicking and slapping her multiple times, disregarding her pleas for help, as detailed in the police FIR.
The incident, which occurred at Kejriwal’s official residence on Monday, came to light on Friday as Maliwal appeared before a magistrate to formally record her statement in the case.
According to officials, the Delhi Police registered an FIR on Thursday, naming Kumar as the accused.
Maliwal reportedly cried out for assistance during the assault, but Kumar persisted, kicking her in the chest, stomach, and other parts of her body, as documented in the FIR. She stated in her complaint that Kumar used considerable force, repeatedly striking her and allegedly slapping her seven to eight times.
On Monday morning, Maliwal lodged her complaint at the Civil Lines police station, accusing a member of Kejriwal’s personal staff of assaulting her at the chief minister’s residence.
