New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt wishes to the people of Telangana on the occasion of Statehood Day, through his official social media handle on Sunday morning.
“Best wishes to my sisters and brothers of Telangana on their Statehood Day. Every Indian takes great pride in the state’s contribution to national progress. Telangana is endowed with a rich history and a vibrant culture. We remain committed to continuing our efforts for the state’s growth in the future,” PM Modi’s post read.
In addition, the Prime Minister also conveyed his greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh.
“Best wishes to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Hard work and courage are integral to the cultural ethos of this land. The state’s contribution to India’s development is deeply valued. Wishing the citizens of the state success in all their future endeavors,” he further stated.
Telangana officially attained statehood on June 2, 2014, following its bifurcation from Andhra Pradesh. Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao served as the inaugural Chief Minister of the newly formed southern state.
